Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest things as the Grammy’s, Oscars, Tony’s and Emmy’s. If you are a football fan, the Super Bowl is the only thing you look forward to the whole year. Even though I’m not a big sports fan, my husband is. His Game is Football, and he is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I’m from the DMV, so the “Washington Football Team” would be the team that I would root for by default.

He has jerseys, an onesie I got him one year for Christmas, and I even got him a steelers skull from Mexico. Cooper has a Steelers Jersey, and now Noah has one too.

I’ll never convert, but it’s nice to see the boys have fun and bond in that matter. But that means on Super Bowl Sunday I have to find something to do and if you are like me, half-time only interest you. Maybe.

Don’t worry! I will share some easy ways to handle the day like a pro and not come off as a Debbie Downer.

Enjoy your mate creating memories with the children.

Sports is one way to bond, and since that’s not my thing, I don’t get involved. I let the hubs have his day and make sure that I set it up to make it as enjoyable as possible.

I also make sure I don’t talk down or overstate my opinion about the game so that Noah doesn’t become discouraged about watching it with his dad.

Watch/Do something that you enjoy.

While the boys are watching the game in one room, I’m in another room doing something that I want to do. Most of the time, you can find me at HomeGoods, and it would probably be the best time to go in there since everyone would be watching the game.

Other things that you could do:

  • Have a watch party with your friends
  • Catch up on your favorite TV shows
  • Sleep (1st half of the game)
  • Order in with your favorite dish

Create Tasks/Plan the Party to keep you busy

If you want to have some involvement in the day, you can be the party planner. Making buffalo wings is a skill, and you can take that on or order from Buffalo Wild Wings.

You can also decorate the space to transform it as if they are at the game, and let’s not forget about making sure the snacks and drinks stay stocked.

It’s a fun way to be apart of the day without being apart of the day.

Add a game within the Super Bowl Sunday game

Maybe football is not your sport, but you can add a fun game element to the game to make it worth you’re wild.

A cool interactive game is Commercial Bingo. Place a bet on which company will have the best or worst commercial or how many times a commercial will run during the game.

You can create any game to play during the Superbowl, and it will allow you to still be apart of It without watching the teams involved. You never know; it might be more entertaining than the game.

Watch the Puppy Bowl vs the Super Bowl

If you still want to watch the game, I highly recommend watching the puppy bowl. It comes on Animal Planet, and it’s one of the best shows you will see all day.

What makes this even more impressive is that all puppies (and kittens) who participate during the game are all up for adoption.

It’s the cutest thing you will ever see, and I’m sure whether you are an animal lover or not, you will find some joy watching that game.

There are so many ways to enjoy the Superbowl without having a team. I will be using the time to catch up on my favorite shows and let the boys have fun watch the game together.
