One thing about me is that I am going to wear a mean red lip. I love red lipsticks because they are bold. Reds make a statement, and I love the shade.

On Instagram, I shared the story about how I got into wearing red lipsticks. It was my grandmother who pushed me to do it. I thank her to this day, even from heaven, because she knew what I needed.

Red lips come in so many different shades, from berry to blue. So even when I can’t get my favorite Red of all time, I know where to look to get a nice red that goes with anything.

Picking the best Red comes with trial and error. You have to try and wear many different reds before you can find the one you may feel like it’s right.

I started with Ruby Woo and then found shades similar to getting a gauge of the “red family” I should join.

I’m sure there are other more effective ways of doing it, but this is way more fun.

Lipsticks

Here are my 3 Favorite Red Lipstick

  1. Ruby Woo = Mac
  2. Bad Reputation = Nars
  3. Inappropriate Red = Nars

Ruby Woo

Ruby Woo is hands down my favorite red lip, and it’s a lot of peoples. No matter if you are new to reds are a pro, this red works on everyone. I recommend trying it as a start if you are new to the red world.

Bad Reputation

Bad Reputation is the satin version of Ruby Woo. It’s cooler than Ruby Woo but allows me to have the bright red color that I look for and love.

Inappropriate Red

Inappropriate Red is a step down from the Ruby Woo regarding intensity, and I usually will wear this every day. I can put this on and still feel powerful, in control, and “that woman,” but it doesn’t show as bold.

What’s great about these reds is that it’s a mix of matte and satin. I love the way both look and that they can work on any skin tone.

Since I’m not a makeup girl, I try to keep all of my makeup essentials under $100. My makeup tool kit includes foundations, sponges, and mascaras.

I keep my skincare low maintenance as well. Since I have acne-prone skin, lipstick becomes the gateway to keeping my face minimalist. Click here to see my 2021 skincare routine and goals.

Even though this Valentine’s Day is not the same, getting creative and doing something for yourself is the best want to show yourself some love.
