  4. Scavenger Hunt – Explore the outdoors. Create a list of times your little one has to find while outside to make it a fun game.   • Have a crafty morning – start the day off with an easy activity of having your toddler get a paper plate and have different items around the plate. Ask them to put all the textures of fall on the plate or what they think fall represents. Make sure the surface area you put the items on is safe for 2 year olds.
  • If it’s your first time creating a sensory bin, think about a simple craft that you can do that includes all the senses and would be plain fun for the toddler. Think of items like ice cubes to represent the change in the weather, leaves, etc. You can use that as items to put in the bin.

You don’t have to venture outside. There are so many fun ideas that you can do at home that your child will love just as much. These ideas go hand in hand with toddlers’ development because they include some sensory play ideas, which is always a plus.

  1. Use construction paper to do crafts with leaves.
  2. You can do a leaf rubbing project. Which is just taking some leaves off the ground and using colored crayons to create beautiful pieces of art.
  3. You can take pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin patch you went to and glue them on paper. This is so much fun.
  4. Leaf paintings are another great option that you can do and a great craft. If you have an area in your home to spread out.
  5. If you want to switch it up, try an apple craft. You can do this with simple contact paper, and it’s another great fall activity that you can do. Older kids will have fun doing this as well.
  6. Take some tissue paper (that you can find at the dollar store). Come up with different ways to make different shapes of fall items like leaves and pumpkins flames, to name a few.
