Recently my son was gifted Cocomelon toys for babies.
If you haven’t heard about Cocomelon, you better recognize it! Kids as old as seven years old are on the Cocomelon bus and love everything about the program. My son was gifted the JJ Doll and the cardboard book, so I’m going to be doing a product review of them. One of my goals for 2022 is to be more intentional about the type of toys my toddler gets. Cocomelon as a whole has been fantastic for my son and his development.
Everyone in the family knows just how much our toddler loves Cocomelon, so we were happy my son’s grandparents gifted our toddler Cocomelon toys for his birthday/Christmas.
This post is about Cocomelon toys for babies.
Cocomelon toys for babies and toddlers
Let’s start with the start of the show, JJ. My toddler received the Cocomelon Learning JJ Doll, and he said, “wow,”. The JJ doll is pretty significant. You can sit him upright in a chair, and you can’t miss him, so it’s pretty hard to lose. Since my toddler is an only child, besides Cooper, our dog, he doesn’t have anything that resembles a kid, which is one of the reasons he took to JJ quickly.
In my recent youtube video, I press all of the different parts of the JJ doll so you can see in real-time how it works. Whenever I do product reviews, I must show in real-time to use the products.

You May or May Not Need To Know
One thing to note – when you get the JJ doll, it is in “Try Me” mode, and you have to open his back where the batteries are and switch it to “On” so you can use the full features of the doll. This is done because kids are infamous for pressing toys in the stores to preview the item’s integrity having different modes, so the item doesn’t get broken.
I like that the doll cuts off automatically. Our toddlers have toys running in the background so often, so this is great that after a few minutes, it shuts off to save the battery and our parent ears. The doll is also it’s easy to clean. Since the head is made of plastic, it’s easy to wipe. His clothes will stain, but a damp cloth and light soap will help them stay cleaner longer.
Usually, he will bring the JJ doll to the table that we got for him. If you are looking for a transition table, I did a product review on a good one that I found on Amazon. You can watch the review below.

Cardboard Books are Recommended for Toddlers
The next item I will talk about is the Cocomelon Let’s All Sing Together Board book. For people like us who are a part of the Cocomelon family, this book has the top five songs they sing the most of their TV series. What I like about it is that you press the button, and it goes along with the book’s pages.
Representation Matters! I’m glad that the leading five charters of different backgrounds are represented on the cover of the book and throughout the book.—a quick recap of JJ’s friends.
JJ is White, Cody is Black, Nina is Hispanic, CeCe is Asian, and Bella has tanned skin, but I’m not 100% sure since it’s not completely obvious, but I will say that she is mixed with White. There is another character named Nico on the show from time to time, and he has tanned skin as well, but he gives more Italian vibes.
More Details about the Book
Throughout the book, you see JJ and his friends, which is essential. The book has JJ and his family and the other half as JJ and his friends. The words on the page are big enough for them to see, and the colors are vibrant on the page.
The material of the book is excellent. It’s made out of cardboard because toddlers love to eat books (if you didn’t know, now you know) and rip the pages out, so this makes it difficult to do it. The buttons on the book are straightforward for them to use and easy to access with no issues.
There is no volume control in the book. You have to deal with the current level. The volume is a little soft, and I would recommend not having anything obstruct the book to preview the volume coming through. It also doesn’t come with an additional battery. The book does list the battery used on the back of the book and in the instructions.
Overall Specs of the Cocomelon Products
Let’s start with the Cocomelon Learning JJ Doll. The doll has 50 phrases to encourage children to learn their letters, numbers, and color recognition. For interactive play, use the buttons to press his hand to learn colors, the radio plays songs, and his foot does the numbers and counting. By clicking on JJ, also helps to strengthen the parent-child bond by playing alongside your child’s new experiences. This is also for learning and social skills through engaging playing.
Based on the details of the box, Cocomelon Learning JJ Doll is for ages 18+ months. Your child will learn and speak and develop language. The toy also helps develop fine motor skills, reading, talking, cognitive learning, social-emotional skills, and creativity. The JJ doll takes two AAA batteries.
Now for the Cocomelon Let’s All Sing Together Board Book. Join Cocomelon friends and artwork with a matching audio button to play the tune in the button. This helps the little ones to develop fine motor skills and singing. By doing this, it builds early literacy skills. It’s perfect for all Cocomelon fans and is recommended for children 2 through 7.
Final Thoughts About Cocomenlon Products
I would recommend getting one or both of these items for your toddler. Cocomelon has done a great job of inclusion, and they have taught my toddler how to count, letters, and sing songs. The JJ doll is big enough for your toddler to hug and play with. You will spend hours playing with your toddler and the JJ doll.
I love that my toddler can control what stories they want to listen to for the book, ready that story on the page, and sing the song. You and your toddler will be singing the five songs for hours. It’s a great family bonding activity.
