This post is about the Chicco Fit4.

Chicco Fit4 Specification Overview

Convertible car seats are becoming more popular because of how long they last, and you get more bang for your buck. As a parent and consumer, I always want to know exactly what I am getting.

When buying a product for my child, I never want to get a product or recommend a product that I haven’t had success with or that has had issues with safety.

The Chicco Fit4 convertible car seat has two different modes. It has a harness mode for rear-facing and forward-facing.

This car seat has an easy-adjust harness, a 5-point harness system that snaps together in 3 places. The chest clip is also adjustable to place correctly on your child’s chest.

This is perfect because getting the best fit for your car seat will provide you with the most peace of mind.

Car seat Instructions

If you ever need further instructions, you can always scan the QR code on the side of the car seat. It’s very convenient and comes in handy. The online help section is instrumental and provides easy access to any questions that you may have about the product.

Suppose you’re going to do your child and the rear-facing. In that case, you want them to be at least four lb. Still, they can only be rear-facing up until 40 lb to put them forward-facing, and that goes up to 65 lbs.

Again you are getting one of the most secure installation options that you can have in your car seat. With Chicco-exclusive installation features, you know you will have layers of protection for your child.

The big kid booster mode will get you up to 100 lb. d. The Fit4 also has the rideright bubble levels at the base, so you never have to worry about the proper car seat angle, especially if you move this a lot to different vehicles.

The Chicco fit4 4-1 convertible car seat is designed for comfort for all stages of your childhood journey. With the locksure® belt-tightening system combined, you’ll be using your seatbelt to ensure that the car seat installation is correct.

The actual car seat itself is 26 lb. It has nine recline positions, and you can adjust the height to a 10-position easy-extend headrest system.

Getting a convertible car seat will allow you to provide your child with the ultimate convenience and allow for maximum growth with the car seat.

It is easy to install from birth until they are a preschooler and will grow with you as your child grows.

The System provides optimum fit and comfort throughout multiple stages. You’re removing fewer layers as your child grows. This creates more room to be comfortable in this all-in-one car seat.

Since it has 10 easy-adjust headrest positions and reclining features. You know your child will always be comfortable riding in his car seat.

Four Stages of Car Seat

The car seat comes in four stages or fit levels. Stage one is an infant in newborn, so you’re going to keep them rear-facing until they are 16 lb. This fit has an ergonomic infant positioner to ensure your baby is always in the proper place.

Once they enter stage two, which is the toddler, they will be closer to 40 lb.

After your child hits about 18 months and older, they will probably be forward-facing as they enter the preschooler phase. You’re talking close to like a two-and-a-half to 3-year-old. They will have to be forward-facing since they will be over 25 pounds. This puts your child in stage three. Your child will be in stage three car seats until they are 65 lb.

Once they get 65 lb, you will move them to stage four which will go up to 100 lb. This is when you would use the booster feature of the car seat.

I have used the chico System since my son was a newborn. We are very familiar with how Chico does their safety and quality.

Chicco Fit4 Pros

What I love about the car seat is that it does come in four adjustable ranges. We knew that we would be using a travel system with our stroller most of the time, so it wasn’t as necessary to have something we needed to lug around. We wanted something more stationary in our vehicle.

We’ve had our Chicco Fit4 for almost three years, and it was essential for us to find something comfortable since it would be less likely that my son would be in a stroller at his age.

This is an excellent option if you’re looking for a car seat that you’ll always keep in your vehicle.

Sometimes I can get cumbersome. A lot of times, there are different car seats that you can use as well as a stroller. This is 26 lb, so if you are a petite person like myself, lugging a car seat in and out of the car at all times can be very daunting.

This is to inform you that from the newborn stage up to your child gets to 100 lb. You can keep this car seat in your vehicle if it has many different stages.

There’s so much padding it is so comfortable for our child, and it also comes with space-saving cupfolders™. As your child gets older, they will want to have snacks. They will want to put things inside a space-saving cup holders.

Another reason I love these cup holders is traveling with food. All toddlers love to eat and snack while you are on the road because there’s so much extra cushion and padding we don’t have to worry about when they are taking a nap.

Top-Rated Installation Features

You won’t have to worry about the strain on their neck, especially if you are worried about this interfering with the vehicle seat belt.

Since there is so much padding, my husband and I have never had a problem with our toddler’s neck hurting afterward.

The Chicco car set is all about child comfort. With different levels of padding, you won’t have to add an additional toddler pad to the car seat since the Fit3, and Fit4 inserts are still in the seat when they are in the car seat.

Innovative 4-stage fitkit™ System

The Chicco Fit4 has excellent padding. It reminds you based on which insert you have which fit your child is currently in.

The Chicco Kit4 review on my Youtube channel shows that my son is currently in Fit2. You will also see the different straps for the Fit3 and Fit4. This lets you know that as he ages, we’ll be able to remove an insert based on weight and height for the optimal fit.

As mentioned, machine washable, so if you are looking for complete care instructions, you can find them online.

This is easy if you want to take out the inserts to wash. All you have to do is take out the insert, wash it, and put it back in if you have no issues cleaning the straps.

At most, you will need to use some mild detergent, and you will be able to keep it clean. Trust me, having inserts with washable fabrics will make caring for this car seat much more manageable as your child ages.

Whether you’re putting them in the center on either side, your child’s car seat will fit in any vehicle because of the lower anchors.

You don’t have to worry about it being out of specs. For that car seat, if you’re looking for something to take in and out of the vehicle.

This car seat is not designed to do that. This car seat allows you to stay stationary in that vehicle at all times.

If you order this from Chicco.com, you can get free shipping on this car seat. The return policy is pretty standard, with getting your money back within 30 days.

Chicco Fit4 Cons

There are only a couple of cons about this car seat that I did want to point out. It might not be a big deal to some, but I wanted to make you aware so that you are not blinded.

If you want something more mobile, go to a different car seat. You will have to find a car seat that will work with a travel or stroller system.

I only know a few convertibles that allow you to take them in and out of the vehicle as often as an infant seat. Still, if you were looking for that, you would not get that in this convertible.

The last con of this car seat is that the straps get tangled occasionally. You will have to spend time trying to untwist it. While it’s minor, it can be inconvenient if your toddler is fussy or if they have removed themselves from the strap.

It can be daunting trying to retwist the strap so that you can buckle it back. This is something personal, but I call it a con.

Final Thoughts

Outside of those things, the Chicco Fit4 is worth the investment. If you want to get the car seat, you can click here to get it from Chicco directly. If you’re going to get it locally, you can find this at:
